Coronal hole faces Earth

We are approaching solar minimum so sunspots and solar flares have become a rare sight. Even coronal holes have migrated to higher latitudes but we are in luck today as a southward extension of the northern hemisphere polar coronal hole faces our planet today.

NASA launches the Parker Solar Probe

This morning at 07:31 UTC, NASA launched the Parker Solar Probe into space. While the launch was postponed on Saturday, everything went according to plan on Sunday and the Parker Solar Probe is now on it's way towards the Sun.
