Bulletin

Solar conditions have been quiet with X-ray flux at background levels. Catania group 93 (NOAA 2636) decayed slightly while a new region is appearing at the North Eastern limb. There is only a slight chance for C flares. No Earth directed CMEs have been observed in coronagraph data. Proton flux values are at background levels and expected to remain so.

Solar wind conditions remained enhanced under the positive polarity coronal hole influence. Solar wind speed saw a peak close to 600 km/s while magnetic field was in the 4-9nT range with a period of sustained negative Bz (down to -7nT) around midnight. Enhanced solar wind conditions will continue over the next days. Geomagnetic conditions were quiet to active (both NOAA Kp and local K Dourbes 1-4), with the active periods around midnight associated to the negative Bz values. Periods of active geomagnetic conditions remain possible over the next days.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 011, based on 17 stations.
