Solar X-ray flux remained at background levels with just a single B1.8 flare peaking at 02:39UT originating from Catania group 74 (NOAA 2624). Catania group 74 (NOAA 2624) is a simple unipolar region and observed to be in decay. X-ray flux is expected to remain at background levels. No Earth directed CME's have been observed in coronagraph data. Solar proton flux values are at background levels and expected to remain so.
Solar wind speed saw a peak near 550 km/s early in the period and then a steady decay to below 400 km/s before starting the expected renewed increase of solar wind speed due to the main part of negative coronal hole high speed stream after 4:00UT. Total magnetic field was in the 7-10nT range before hitting a peak of close to 15nT as the increase in solar wind speed set in. It is currently around 10-12nT. Bz was mostly variable. Solar wind conditions are expected to remain enhanced with speeds further increasing to up to 700 km/s under the influence of the main part of the negative polarity coronal hole high speed stream. Geomagnetic conditions were quiet to unsettled (local K Dourbes and NOAA Kp 1-3) following an isolated active (local K Dourbes and NOAA Kp 4) period at the end of the previous reporting period. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to reach active periods with possibly minor storm periods over the next 24-48 hours as the influence of the high speed stream persists.
