The Sun was spotless. Solar activity was at very low levels. Two small active regions have rotated over the east limb. Based on their latitudes (resp. at N32 and S23) and STEREO-A/EUVI imagery, these are not the return of former ARs NOAA 2762 and 2761 but genuinely new regions. However, they are currently spotless and were the sources of only some minor A-class flaring. Solar activity is expected to stay at very low levels, with a small chance on an isolated C-class flare.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux and the greater than 2 MeV electron flux were at nominal levels during the last 24 hours and are expected to remain so.
No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in available coronagraphic imagery.
Solar wind speed varied between 290 and 330 km/s, ending the period near 300 km/s. Bz oscillated between -3 and +4 nT (DSCOVR). The direction of the interplanetary magnetic field (phi angle) was in a predominately positive orientation (away from the Sun).
Geomagnetic activity was at quiet levels, with an unsettled interval recorded by Dourbes (14-17UT). Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be mostly quiet with an occasional unsettled episode possible.
