Solar flaring activity was at very low levels. A small negative to positive sunspot appeared and decayed on the Northern West hemisphere. No significant flares have been recorded. Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.
No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) were observed in the available coronagraphic imagery.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux and the greater than 2 MeV electron flux were at background levels the past 24 hours. They are expected to remain so in the next 24 hours.
The solar wind speed near Earth oscillated between 290 and 360 km/s (DSCOVR+ACE) while the density also increased. We seem to be seeing the influence of the CH crossing central meridian on June 23rd. The polarity of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) was predominantly oriented towards the Sun (phi angle in the negative sector), switching to positive when some transient positive features crossed the disk. Bz fluctuated between -8 and +9 nT. The magnitude of the magnetic field varied between 1 and 11 nT. A filament eruption was observed at SDO/AIA close to the southern Pole and central meridian on June 26th 21:18UT. For the next 24 hours the solar wind speed is expected to continue on this trend.
Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions were registered for the past 24 hours (K Dourbes and NOAA Kp recorded values 1-3). Quiet to unsettled (K Dourbes = 3) geomagnetic conditions are expected for the next 24 hours.
