Solar flaring activity was at very low levels. No significant flares have been recorded. Solar activity is expected to remain at low levels.
No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) were observed in the available coronagraphic imagery.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels the past 24 hours. It is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at low to moderate levels over the past 24 hours. For the next 24 hours, it is expected to remain at those levels.
The solar wind speed near Earth varied between 345 and 385 km/s (DSCOVR). The polarity of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) switched from being oriented towards to away from the Sun (phi angle switched from the negative to the positive sector). Bz fluctuated between -9 and +6 nT. The magnitude of the magnetic field varied between 5 and 10 nT. The solar wind properties indicate the possible arrival of a combination of the shock associated with the CME that took place July 20th and the high speed stream from the Coronal Hole crossing Central Meridian late July 19th.
The geomagnetic conditions were mainly unsettled. The values registered for the past 24 hours were 2-3 for K Dourbes and 2-4 for NOAA Kp. Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions are expected for the next 24 hours.
