There are presently three numbered active regions observed on the visible side of the solar disc, NOAA AR 2768, 2769 and 2770. As all the active regions have simple, Alpha configuration of their photospheric magnetic field, and they did not produce any C-class or even B-class flares during last 24 hours. Nevertheless, the B-class and isolated C-class flares are still possible, although not very probable, in the coming hours. During last 24 hours there were no Earth directed CMEs and the solar protons remained at the background level.
Earth is still inside the fast solar wind. During last 24 hours the wind speed was fluctuating between 630 and 735 km/s, and its present value is 660 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is about 3 nT. As expected, the high solar wind speed together with the longer interval of negative value of the Bz component of interplanetary magnetic field induced active geomagnetic conditions. Local station at Dourbes reported K=4 around midnight and NOAA reported Kp=4 at around 6 UT this morning. As the solar wind speed is still high, we expect unsettled to possibly active geomagnetic conditions in the coming hours.
