The solar activity was mostly quiet over the past 24 hours. A C2.0-class flare was observed today in August 15 at 06:47 UTC. This flare was located in the decaying sunspots NOAA-AR 2770, which is now turning over the West limb. The solar activity is expected to remain at low levels.
A Coronal Mass Ejection associated with the C2.0-flare was most probably triggered along with this C2.0-flare. Imagery from the upper corona will be available soon to confirm this. No Coronal Mass Ejections with Earth- components were identified in the available coronagraphic imagery or on- disc in the last 24 hours.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to stay at nominal levels for the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux decreased further and fluctuated from nominal to moderate levels over the past 24 hours . The flux is expected to remain between nominal and moderate levels over the next 24 hours.
The Earth continued to be under the influence of the slow solar wind streams with the solar wind speed around 290-320 km/s, the total interplanetary magnetic field below 5 nT, and the Bz magnetic field components fluctuating between -4 nT and +5 nT. The solar wind conditions are expected to remain mostly nominal for the next days.
Geomagnetic conditions were quiet, and quiet conditions are expected for the next following days.
