During last 24 hours Catania sunspot group 44 (NOAA AR region 2775), situated at that moment at the West solar limb, was a source of two impulsive C-class flares and number of low B-class flares. The Catania sunspot group 45 (NOAA AR region 2776) was source of only few B-class flares, during last 24 hours. As this sunspot groups still has beta configuration of its photospheric magnetic field, it could be the source of the B-class flares and possibly, but not very probably also isolated C-class flares in the coming hours. The C-class flares originating from the Catania sunspot group 44 were associated with CMEs (projected speeds reported by CACTUS software were about 600 km/s). Since both CMEs were rather narrow and originated from the region on, and partially behind the West solar limb, we do not expected them to arrive to Earth. During the last 24 hours the proton flux levels remain at the background values.
The solar wind speed is presently about 330 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is fluctuating between 3 and 9 nT, and its present value is about 8 nT. The geomagnetic conditions are quiet, and we expect quiet to possibly unsettled geomagnetic conditions in the coming hours.
