NOAA AR 2790 is the only visible active region on the solar disc, it did not produce any C-class flares or larger in the past 24 hours. A region (old AR 2783) is rotating into view from the east limb and producing several B-class flares. C-class flares are possible in the next 24 h.
A faint backsided full halo CME was seen first at 00:24 UT on 11 December by LASCO-C2, it will not affect the Earth. Another faint CME erupted from old NOAA AR 2791 (now decayed into a plage), first seen at 19:09 UT on 11 December by LASCO-C2. The CME is slow (about 200 km/s), with an angular width of around 60 degrees, and directed mostly towards the west. It will most likely not affect the Earth, but a glancing blow on 16 December cannot be discarded.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is at background levels and is expected to remain at background levels. The greater than 2MeV electron flux did not exceed the 1000 pfu alert threshold, it is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at moderate levels, it is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours
The solar wind speed ranged from 500 km/s to 400 km/s with interplanetary magnetic field magnitude around 5 nT, in the past 24 hours. The magnetic field polarity is negative, pointing towards the Sun. Bz was never below -5 nT.
Geomagnetic conditions were quiet to unsettled locally at Dourbes (K Dourbes 0-3) and quiet at planetary levels (Kp 0-2). Geomagnetic conditions are expected to remain quiet.
