Solar flaring activity was very low but frequent during the last 24 hours. Several B-class flares were detected, with the brightest one be a B9.7 from NOAA Active Region (AR) 2960 (Catania group 51). C-class flares are expected for the next 24 hours, mainly from NOAA AR 2957 and 2960 (Catania groups 47 and 51).
No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) have been observed in the available coronagraph data.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so for the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux remained below the 1000 pfu alert threshold and is expected to remain below this threshold during the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at nominal levels and is expected to remain so.
The Solar Wind (SW) conditions (as measured by the DSCOVR and ACE satellites) are typical of a slow wind regime. The SW speed varied between 380 and 500 km/s during the last 24 hours. The total magnetic field (Btot) varied between 2 and 10 nT, while its Bz component varied between -6 and 7 nT since in the last 24 hours. The interplanetary magnetic field phi angle was predominantly negative (directed towards the Sun). The SW conditions are expected to have characteristics typical of the slow SW for the next 24 hours.
Geomagnetic conditions were globally and locally active (NOAA Kp index 2-4 and K BEL index 1-4) during the last 24 hours. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be moderate for the next 24 hours.
