Solar flaring activity was more active in the past 24 hours with several M-class flares.
The magnetically complex bipolar region (beta-gamma-delta) Catania sunspot group 81 (NOAA active region 2993) produced two M-class fares: a M1.0-class flare peaking at 01:56 UTC and a M1.2-class flare peaking at 04:02 UTC. It was then followed by few C-class flares. The unipolar region Catania sunspot group 84 (NOAA active region 2995) also produced M1.2-class flare peaking at 02:01 UTC on April 25. The other regions on the disc are comparatively insignificant. Flares at M levels are likely with still also a chance for an X flare.
No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) has been detected in the available coronagraph imagery over the last 24 hours.
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux remained below the 1000 pfu alert threshold and is expected to remain below the threshold in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron fluence was at nominal levels in the past 24 hours and is expected remained at nominal levels in the next 24 hours.
Solar wind continued to be slightly enhanced. Solar wind velocity was ranging from 400 km/s to 500 km/s. The magnetic field magnitude remained below 6 nT with a magnetic field orientation indicating connection to a positive polarity sector. Solar wind speed is expected to remain just slowly enhanced over the next days.
The geomagnetic conditions were quiet (NOAA Kp and local K-Belgium 0-2). The geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet with possible isolated periods of unsettled contrition.
