Over the past 24 hours, solar flaring activity has been very low, no C-class flares observed. There are six active regions visible on the disk. NOAA AR 3023 together with the newly numbered ARs 2028 and 2029, have alpha magnetic field configuration. NOAA ARs 3024, 3026 and 3027 have been stable and have beta magnetic field configuration. C-class flares are possible in the next 24 hours.
A filament erupted in the northern hemisphere, leading to a CME mostly directed to the north. This CME will most likely miss the Earth, but a glancing blow cannot be discarded on 7-8 July.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron has been fluctuating around the 1000 pfu threshold over the past 24 hours. It can be expected to decrease in the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence is at moderate levels, and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours.
The solar wind arriving to the Earth is slow, with speeds around 280 km/s and interplanetary magnetic field around 4 nT. The CME that erupted on 2 June could still arrive today, but it has probably passed to the west of the Earth. In that case, slow wind conditions can be expected for the next 24 hours.
Over the past 24 hours, geomagnetic conditions have been quiet (Kp=1, K_BEL=2). Over the next 24 hours, similar conditions can be expected, unless the ICME mentioned above arrives and causes disturbed conditions (probably only up to active levels).
