The largest solar event of the period was a X9 event observed at
03/1218Z from Region 3842 (S15W08). There are currently 10 numbered
sunspot regions on the disk.

Solar activity is expected to be moderate
with a chance for X-class flares on days one, two, and three (04 Oct, 05
Oct, 06 Oct).
IIA. Résumé de l'activité géophysique du 02-2100Z au 03-2100Z
The geomagnetic
field has been at quiet to unsettled levels for the past 24 hours. Solar
wind speed reached a peak of 407 km/s at 03/1914Z. Total IMF reached 8
nT at 03/1729Z. The maximum southward component of Bz reached -6 nT at
03/1124Z. Electrons greater than 2 MeV at geosynchronous orbit reached
a peak level of 268 pfu.

The geomagnetic field is expected
to be at unsettled to severe storm levels on day one (04 Oct), minor
storm to severe storm levels on day two (05 Oct) and active to severe
storm levels on day three (06 Oct). Protons have a chance of crossing
threshold on days one, two, and three (04 Oct, 05 Oct, 06 Oct).
