NOAA AR 1785, near the east limb, produced an M-flare this morning associated with type II and type III bursts. LASCO data are not in yet to confirm if there was also a CME but in any case the event will not be geo- effective. Quiet geomagnetic activity is expected in the coming days. A coronal hole in the northern hemisphere might speed up the solar wind, and hence geomagnetic activity, towards the end of the week.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 076, based on 08 stations.
