Bulletin

There are presently five small sunspot groups visible on the solar disc, as reported by Catania. There were two B-class flares reported this morning, originating from the newly emerged, Catania sunspot group 81 (NOAA AR 2628). We expect solar activity to remain on the low level, with B-class and occasional C-class flares possible. No Earth directed CMEs were observed during last 24 hours. The Earth is still inside the fast solar wind, but the wind speed is slowly decreasing and it presently amounts about 550 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is about 4 nT. Due to the still ongoing influence of the fast solar wind, we can expect unsettled conditions in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 055, based on 18 stations.
