Bulletin

Over the past 24 hours solar activity has been very low. No significant flares have been recorded. No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been detected. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background levels over the past 24 hours. Quiet flaring conditions are expected to continue. The solar wind speed has fluctuated around 320 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength has fluctuated around 3 nT. The Bz component fluctuated between -3 and +3 nT. Geomagnetic conditions ranged between Kp index 0-1 (NOAA) and local K index 0-2 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. There is large coronal hole currently located near disk centre which will enhance solar wind conditions in several days. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet to unsettled.
