Bulletin

No flares in the past 24 h. No active regions visible on the solar disk. Solar activity is expected to be low.

No Earth directed CMEs in past 24 h. Solar protons have remained at background levels over the past 24 hours.

The solar wind speed is at 420 km/s with interplanetary magnetic field magnitude of 4 nT. Geomagnetic conditions reached active levels locally at Dourbes (K = 4) between 00:00 UT and 03:00 UT. At planetary levels Kp was at 3 between 18:00 UT on April 23 and 03:00 UT today. This was due to the expected arrival of a solar wind stream from a negative polarity coronal hole. The effect was weak, as the speeds did not go beyond 430 km/s with interplanetary magnetic fields up to 11 nT, with Bz reaching -8nT. Quiet to unsettled conditions expected for the next 48 h.
