Solar flaring activity was at very low levels. No significant flares have been recorded. Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.
No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) were observed in the available coronagraphic imagery.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to stay at nominal levels for the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at moderate levels the past 24 hours. It is expected to decrease in the coming days.
The solar wind speed near Earth oscillated between the values of 390 to 465 km/s (DSCOVR). The Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) was predominantly oriented towards the Sun (phi angle in the negative sector) with some small deviations into the positive sector. Bz decreased to -7 nT at about Apr 3 20:40 UT. The magnitude of the magnetic field varied between 2 and 7 nT. For the next 24 hours the solar wind speed is expected to further decrease, but some enhancements are expected from late April 4 as a response to the solar wind associated with the positive polarity coronal hole crossing the central meridian on Mar 31.
Mostly quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions were registered for the past 24 hours with an isolated active interval (K Dourbes and NOAA Kp = 4) possibly due to a solar wind perturbation at the short time-interval when Bz decreased to -7 nT. Quiet to unsettled (K Dourbes = 3) geomagnetic conditions are expected for the next 24 hours.
