Solar flaring activity was at very low levels. No significant flares have been recorded. The solar surface has been spotless. Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.
A faint and slow-moving Coronal Mass Ejection (about 210 km/s) was visible both in Lasco C2 in July 19th 4:00UT and STEREO COR2 in July 19th 12:00UT. Its source could have been a coronal dimming, visible in AIA 193 in the NE quadrant. In view of its width (about 110 degrees in LASCO/C2 at 19/17:11UT July) and the source location near N32E32, there's a small chance on a glancing blow about July 25th.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels the past 24 hours. It is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at moderate levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so for the next 24 hours.
The solar wind speed near Earth varied between 320 and 360km/s (DSCOVR+ACE). The polarity of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) was predominantly oriented away the Sun (phi angle in the positive sector), with a short-term variation to the negative sector late July 20th. Bz fluctuated between -3 and +3 nT. The magnitude of the magnetic field varied between 0 and 5 nT. For the next 24 hours the solar wind speed is expected to remain in those levels.
The geomagnetic conditions were quiet, while the values registered for the past 24 hours were 0-2 for K Dourbes NOAA Kp=1. Quiet to unsettled (K Dourbes = 3) geomagnetic conditions are expected for the next 24 hours.
