Solar flaring activity over the past 24 hours was at low levels, with several C-class flares, the larger ones were class C2. There are currently 12 numbered active regions on the visible disk with magnetic complexity alpha and beta. The solar flaring activity is likely to be at low levels over the coming days with C-class flares and possible M-class flares.
Based on currently available coronagraph images several coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed. No Earth directed coronal mass ejections have been identified in the last 24 hours.
The small midlatitude coronal hole in the northern hemisphere (with positive magnetic polarity) is now on the solar meridian. It’s a high-speed stream may impact the solar condition near Earth in 3-4 days.
Slow solar wind conditions were recorded over the past 24 hours. The solar wind speed as measured by DSCOVR ranged between 300 km/s and 500 km/s. The total interplanetary magnetic field was below 6.6 nT, and the Bz (north-south) component fluctuating between -3 nT and 4 nT. Slow solar wind conditions are expected for the next 24 hours.
The geomagnetic conditions over the past 24 hours were quiet (Kp 2 and K Bel 2). Mostly quiet conditions are expected in the next 24 hours.
The greater than 10 MeV protons flux where at background levels. It is expected to be at background levels in the next 24 hours.
The greater than 2 MeV GOES 16 electron flux was below the 1000 pfu threshold and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at nominal level and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours.
