Bulletin

The solar activity was quiet over the past 24 hours. No significant flares have been recorded. The X-ray flux is below B-class level and the solar activity is expected to remain at low levels.

No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) were observed in the available coronagraphic imagery in the last 24 hours.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to stay at nominal levels for the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was between nominal and moderate levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to remain at nominal to moderate levels over the next 24 hours.

The solar wind parameters recorded near Earth (DSCOVR) were mostly at nominal levels. The solar wind speed was slow and oscillated between 295 km/s and 340 km/s. The total interplanetary magnetic field was slightly enhanced between 2 nT and 7 nT. The Bz magnetic field components fluctuated between -6.6 nT and +4.6 nT. Today, an elongated extension of the southern polar coronal hole (negative polarity) stretching all the way up to -35 degree latitude is facing Earth. Slight enhancements of the solar wind conditions may occur in about 3-4 days from now in response to the influence of the solar wind associated with this coronal hole.

Geomagnetic conditions were mostly quiet with some periods of unsettled conditions in response to the slightly enhanced interplanetary magnetic field values. Mostly quiet conditions are expected for the next following days.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 26 stations.
