Bulletin

Solar flaring activity is low, without C-class or even B-class flares reported during last 24 hours. The only active region (not numbered) presently observed on the visible side of the solar disc continues to decay as it approaches the West solar limb. Two rather faint CMEs were observed yesterday morning, but as they originate from the active region situated close to the East solar limb, as seen by STEREO A, the CMEs are back sided and will not arrive to the Earth. During last 24 hours the solar protons remained at the background level.

The Earth is presently inside the slow solar wind with the speed of about 320 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is 6 nT. The extension of the southern polar coronal hole (up to S25) has crossed central meridian today. The solar wind originating from this coronal hole might reach the Earth late on May 29. The geomagnetic conditions are presently quiet and we expect quiet to possibly unsettled geomagnetic conditions in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 25 stations.
