There are ten visible active regions on the solar disk. Only C-class flaring has been observed in the last 24 hours, from NOAA ARs 3315, 3319, 3323, 3324, and 3326. The strongest flare was a C6.3 from NOAA AR 3324, peaking at 22:42 UTC on 2 June. More C-class flares will be observed and M-class flares are possible.
No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were detected in the past 24 hours.
There are two positive polarity coronal holes, a small one close to the equator and another larger one in the south. The corresponding high speed streams seem to have missed the Earth.
In the last 24 hours the solar wind speed has decreased to 340 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field to 3 nT, its polarity has turned positive (away from the Sun). Similar conditions can be expected for the next 24 hours. There are slight chances of still seeing fast solar winds from the two coronal holes, but their effect is not expected to be important.
The geomagnetic conditions over the past 24 hours have been quiet to moderate (K_Belgium and Kp up to 4). Similar conditions can be expected for the next 24 hours.
Over the past 24 hours the greater than 10 MeV GOES proton flux was at nominal levels and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours.
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was below the 1000 pfu threshold over the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at normal levels and is expected to remain at normal levels over the next 24 hours.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 135, based on 18 stations.
