Flaring activity is expected to be below C-class. Quiet (K<4) geomagnetic conditions are expected. A partial halo CME was observed by LASCO, leaving the Sun towards the SE quadrant on Oct 4, 19:18 UT and an homologous event on Oct 5 07:09 UT. From STEREO imagery, the last event is determined to be back-sided and will thus not have geomagnetic consequences. Arrival at STEREO-B is expected in the coming days. For the first event this is not so clear (STEREO data gap) but we presume it is back-sided too, given its similarity and absence of on-disk associated phenomena.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 038, based on 13 stations.
