Bulletin

Solar flaring activity was restricted to a single B1 flare produced by NOAA 2526. Small filament eruptions were observed near the southwest limb (00:15-01:30UT) and to the northeast of NOAA 2526 (05:00-05:45UT). Standing by coronagraphic imagery to assess any associated coronal mass ejections (CMEs). A faint CME was observed starting at 12:48UT (30 March) but was directed mainly to the south and southwest.

Quiet conditions are expected to continue.

Earth seems to be gradually exiting the high speed stream from the positive transequatorial coronal hole stream. Solar wind speed showed an overall declining trend from initial values near 530 km/s to values around 450 km/s by the end of the period. Bz oscillated between -5 and +4 nT. Geomagnetic conditions were quiet to unsettled, with a single active interval on planetary levels (12-15UT) and locally at Dourbes (18-21UT).

Mostly quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions are expected until the arrival of a complex structure consisting of a small negative equatorial coronal hole, its associated co-rotating interaction region, and an approaching sector boundary crossing. This disturbance is expected for 1 or 2 April, with a reasonable chance on minor geomagnetic storming.
