Solar activity was at very low levels. Small and inactive region NOAA 2709 (Catania 81) is currently the only visible sunspot region on the solar disk. No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in available coronagraphic imagery. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels.
Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.
Earth remained under the influence of the high speed stream (HSS) from an elongated negative polarity equatorial coronal hole (CH). Solar wind speed varied mostly between 560 and 610 km/s, with a short-lived peak near 670 km/s around 18UT (DSCOVR). Bz varied between -5 and +4 nT. The interplanetary magnetic field was mostly directed towards the Sun. Geomagnetic activity ranged from quiet to active levels.
Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions are expected, with a chance on an isolated active interval.
