Bulletin

The solar activity has been quiet over the past 24 hours. The visible solar disc was spotless and the X-ray flux remained below B-class level. Quiet conditions are expected to continue over the next 24 hours.

No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been detected. The greater than 10MeV proton flux remained at background levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so.

The solar wind speed has decreased from around 460 to 360 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength remained below 7 nT and the Bz component fluctuated between -3.4 and +3.4 nT. The solar wind parameters are expected to remain at background levels for the next 24 hours. A southern polar coronal hole, extending to approximately -40 degrees latitude, is currently facing Earth and may cause slightly enhanced solar wind conditions in a few days.

The geomagnetic conditions have been quiet over the past 24 hours, with the Kp (NOAA) and the local K (Dourbes) indices ranging between 1 and 2. Over the next 24 hours, geomagnetic conditions are expected to remain quiet.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 19 stations.
