Bulletin

Solar activity is low with only few B-class flares reported during last 24 hours. Since there are presently no active regions observed on the visible side of the solar disc, we expect that even number of B-class flares will decrease in the coming hours. There were no Earth directed CMEs reported during last 24 hours and the solar protons remained at the background level.

The solar wind speed is presently about 350 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is 7 nT. The fast solar wind associated with the negative polarity equatorial coronal hole (seemingly connected to the southern polar coronal hole), which reached central meridian yesterday afternoon, is expected at the Earth in the morning of March 29. The geomagnetic conditions are presently quiet and we expect quiet to unsettled conditions in the coming hours. The arrival of the fast solar wind, associated with the negative polarity equatorial coronal hole that is expected later today, might induce unsettled to possibly but not very probably, active geomagnetic conditions.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 26 stations.
