Bulletin

Solar activity has been very low over the past 24 hours. Catania region 7 (NOAA AR 12833) is rotating on the western solar hemisphere. A northern active regions has rotated on the visible disk, while a southern one is about to do so. The solar activity is expected to remain at low levels over the next 24 hours.

No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections have been confirmed in the available coronagraphic imagery.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels in the past 24 hours, and is expected to stay at nominal levels in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux dropped below the 1000 pfu alert threshold at about Jun-21 23:00UT. It is expected to remain at about those levels during the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at moderate levels and is expected to be at normal to moderate over the next 24 hours.

The solar wind speed fluctuated between 320 to 395 km/s over the past 24 hours while the total magnetic field strength had values between 3 to 9 nT. The values of the Bz component varied between -7 and +7 nT. The interplanetary magnetic field phi angle was predominantly on the negative sector (directed towards the Sun). A small disturbance caused a drop on the Bz with a short-lived switch on the phi angle and unsettled conditions at about Jun-22 02:00UT. Bz had smoothly transitioned to background level by 04:00UT. Any effects from the high speed stream from the extension of the Northern negative polarity Coronal Hole (CH) or the southern positive CH could be expected in the next 24 hours.

Geomagnetic conditions were at quiet to unsettled levels (NOAA Kp and K Dourbes 1-3) over the past 24 hours, associated with the aforementioned distubance. Quiet to unsettled conditions are expected over the next 24 hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 014, based on 14 stations.
