Bulletin

Solar activity was very low. X-ray flux remained below C level throughout the period. All regions on disc were simple and decaying. X-ray flux is expected to remain below C level.

No new Earth directed CMEs have been recorded in coronagraph data.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels and is expected to remain so. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux remained below the 1000 pfu alert threshold. The 24h electron fluence decreased to normal levels and is expected to further decrease to low levels.

Slow solar wind conditions have been recorded, with some signatures of the passing of the ICME that arrived yesterday. Solar wind speed was around 320 km/s. The magnitude of the interplanetary magnetic field decreased to just above 5nT. The north-south component evolved from sustained positive (northward oriented) to sustained negative, but Bz did not reach below -7nT. We yesterday mistakenly reported that a glancing blow from the CME that left the Sun June 4, was expected late yesterday (June 6). Instead, that arrival, if it occurs, is expected late today or early tomorrow. Otherwise slow solar wind conditions are expected.

Geomagnetic conditions were quiet to unsettled (NOAA Kp 1-3 and local K Belgium mostly 2-3) with an isolated active period locally. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet to unsettled with active periods possible.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 026, based on 12 stations.
