There are seven active regions visible on the disk. They all have simple alpha or beta magnetic field configuration. Only C-class flares have occurred in the last 24 hours. The largest flare was a C4.4 flare peaking at 07:53 UTC, from a region rotating into view from the east limb. C-class flares are expected and M-class flares are possible (mostly from the new region), for the next 24 hours.
There were no Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) detected in the available coronagraph observations in the last 24 hours.
The Earth is inside a fast solar wind stream, with speeds around 600 km/s and an interplanetary magnetic field around 5 nT. The interplanetary magnetic field orientation was predominantly in the negative sector (field directed towards the Sun). The solar wind is expected to gradually decrease its speed in the coming days.
During the last 24 hours the geomagnetic conditions were at quiet to unsettled levels (NOAA KP 1-3, K Bel 1-3). Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be at unsettled levels, with isolated active periods possible due to the ongoing high speed stream influence.
Over the past 24 hours the greater than 10 MeV GOES proton flux was at nominal levels and is expected to remain so over the next days.
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux remained below the 1000 pfu threshold as measured by GOES 16. It may increase above this threshold in the next 24 hours. The 24 hour electron fluence was at normal levels and is expected to remain so.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 111, based on 20 stations.
