Solar Active Regions and flaring

There are six active regions visible on the disk. They all have simple alpha or beta magnetic field configuration. An M1.4 flare was observed, from NOAA AR 3415, peaking at 01:09 UTC. C-class flares are expected and M-class flares are possible.

Espulsioni di massa coronale

There were no Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) detected in the available coronagraph observations in the last 24 hours.

Vento solare

In the last 24 hours, the Earth was briefly inside a mild high speed stream from a small coronal hole, with speeds reaching 500 km/s and an interplanetary magnetic field up to 9 nT, and Bz down to -7 nT. Conditions have now returned to a slow solar wind regime, with speeds close to 400 km/s and interplanetary magnetic field around 5 nT. Similar conditions can be expected in the next 24 hours.

Geomagnetism

During the last 24 hours the geomagnetic conditions reached active levels locally and unsettled levels globally (NOAA KP 1-3, K Bel 1-4). Mostly quiet to unsettled conditions can be expected for the next 24 hours.

Proton flux levels

Over the past 24 hours the greater than 10 MeV GOES proton flux was at nominal levels and is expected to remain so over the next 24 hours.

Electron fluxes at geostationary orbit

The greater than 2 MeV electron flux remained below the 1000 pfu threshold as measured by GOES 16. It is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The 24 hour electron fluence was at normal levels and is expected to remain so.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 090, based on 10 stations.
