The solar activity has been very low over the past 24 hours. The Sun is currently spotless. Active Region NOAA 12813 has formed into a plage. A small region is present in the North-Eastern part of the visible disk. The solar activity is expected to remain at low levels over the next 24 hours.
No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections were observed in the available coronagraphic imagery.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels in the past 24 hours, and is expected to stay at nominal levels in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux remained below the 1000 pfu alert threshold. It is expected to remain so during the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at nominal levels and is expected to remain so.
The solar wind speed has has increased from around 295 to 430 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength has slowly increased from around 0 to 16 nT. The Bz component has been predominantly negative since about April 6 06:00UT, fluctuating between -10 and +15 nT. The interplanetary magnetic field phi angle was predominantly in the positive sector (directed away from the Sun), with variations during the past 24 hour window. Conditions near Earth seem to be under the influence of the high speed stream associated with the Coronal Hole at Central Meridian on April 3. As a result, the solar wind parameters are expected to become slightly further enhanced over the next 24 hours.
Geomagnetic conditions were at quiet to active levels (NOAA Kp 0-4 and local K Dourbes 1-3) over the past 24 hours. Active conditions are expected for the next 48 hours due to the influence of the aforementioned high speed stream.
