Bulletin

Solar activity remains to be low with only one isolate C-class flare reported. The C1.0 flare (peaked at 07:48 UT today) originated from the NOAA AR 2597 which presently has beta-gamma configuration of its photospheric magnetic field. We expect solar activity to be low with chances for an isolated C-class flare. No Earth directed CMEs were observed in the last 24 hours. The Earth is presently inside the solar wind with the speed of about 550 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is about 10 nT. Due to long intervals of negative values of the Bz component of the magnetic field (down to -10 nT) active to storm conditions prevailed during last 12 hours. The present solar wind flow apparently constitutes the edge of the fast stream associated with the large coronal hole in the northern hemisphere. The fast solar wind from its equatorial extension is expected to arrive at the Earth late today or early tomorrow. Up to moderate storm conditions can be expected (K=6).

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 024, based on 24 stations.
