Bulletin

Solar flaring activity was at very low levels. No significant flares have been recorded. Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.

No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) were observed in the available coronagraphic imagery.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels in the past 24 hours and is expected to stay at nominal levels in the next 24 hours.

The solar wind speed near Earth varied between about 430 and 510 km/s (DSCOVR) over the past 24 hours. The Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) was predominantly oriented towards the Sun (phi angle in the negative sector) and its magnitude varied between about 2 and 6 nT. Bz fluctuated between -5 and +3 nT. Quiet to slightly enhanced solar wind conditions are expected in the next 24 hours.

Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions were registered for the majority of the past 24 hours (K Dourbes and NOAA Kp recorded values of between 1 and 3) with one isolated active interval at 11 UT where K Dourbes reached 4. Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic levels are expected on March 23 to 25, with a chance for isolated active intervals (K Dourbes = 4) in the next 24 hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 23 stations.
