Bulletin

Solar activity remains to be extremely low with no C-class or B-class flares reported during last 24 hours. There are no active regions observed, on the visible side of solar disc. We expect low solar activity to persist in the coming hours. The full halo CME first seen in the SOHO/LASCO C2 field of view at about 17:00 UT on June 30 was the back side event, and will therefore not arrive at the Earth. No Earth directed CMEs were observed in the last 24 hours. The solar wind speed is presently 390 km/s, and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is about 4 nT. The increase of the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude, started at about 14:00 on June 30 and reaching local maximum value of about 10 nT this morning, was observed simultaneously with the smooth change of the phi angle, and the small increase of the density and solar wind speed. All this indicates possible arrival of the current sheet in front of the fast solar wind, possibly associated with the elongated equatorial coronal hole (between N10 to S25), which has crossed central meridian in the morning of June 29. The geomagnetic conditions are presently quiet, and we expect quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 18 stations.
