The solar activity was quiet over the past 24 hours. The bipolar sunspot (NOAA-AR 2770) has slightly declined and did not produce any significant flaring activity. The X-ray flux remained below B-class level. The solar activity is expected to remain at low levels with a low probability of occurring a C-class flare.
No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) were observed in the available coronagraphic imagery in the last 24 hours.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to stay at nominal levels for the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to remain at high levels over the next 24 hours.
The Earth is currently under the influence of the slow solar wind streams. The solar wind parameters (DSCOVR) show at nominal values with the solar wind speed around 310-400 km/s, the total interplanetary magnetic field below 6 nT, and the Bz magnetic field components fluctuating between -3 nT and +5 nT. The solar wind conditions are expected to remain mostly nominal for the next days. A relatively small equatorial coronal hole (negative polarity) is currently facing Earth. The wind streams associated with this coronal hole may enhance the solar wind parameters near Earth in about 3-4 days for now.
Geomagnetic conditions were quiet, and quiet conditions are expected for the next following day.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 012, based on 25 stations.
