Bulletin

Solar activity was at very low levels and is expected to remain so.

No Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) were observed in the available coronagraphic imagery.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels over the past 24 hours. It is expected to stay at background levels for the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was above the threshold value of 1000 pfu for much of the reporting period, with a maximum value of 3970 pfu reached at 16:30 UT Sep 05. It is expected to continue to reach high levels during the coming days, while the peak value shall gradually decrease.

The solar wind speed varied between 380 and 460 km/s over the period (DSCOVR). The total magnetic field fluctuated around 4nT. Bz had a minimum value of -4 nT. The interplanetary magnetic field was predominantly directed away from the Sun (phi angle in the positive sector). The solar wind parameters are expected to continue to be at background levels over the coming days.

Geomagnetic conditions were quiet to unsettled (K Dourbes and NOAA Kp recorded values of 0-3 and 0-2, respectively). Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet over the next 24 hours with an isolated unsettled period possible.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 25 stations.
