We practically gave it up at our first location of the night was clouds moved in and some drizzle started. But with Icelandic weather, things can change very rapidly and that's what exactly happened. We were already driving back to our hotel when we noticed something bright appearing in the sky, it was all clear skies again with a very bright aurora band from east to west, quickly stopped at the first parking lot and get our gear back out and capture some footage. Although it didn't last long, it was very awesome to see.
A lot of people come to SpaceWeatherLive to follow the Solar activity or if there is a chance to see the aurora, but with more traffic comes higher costs to keep the servers online. If you like SpaceWeatherLive and want to support the project you can choose a subscription for an ad-free site or consider a donation. With your help we can keep SpaceWeatherLive online!
