The coronal hole solar wind stream is subsiding and our Sun has gone to sleep. No sunspot groups are currently visible on the earth-facing solar disk. That means we are in for some quiet space weather in the foreseeable future.
While we wait for more interesting space weather we like to wish all of our visitors a Merry Christmas! Please enjoy this realtime footage of an aurora display over Kiruna (Sweden) on 4 October of this year. Happy holidays!
