The largest solar event of the period was a C8 event observed at
15/1044Z from Region 2907 (S21E39). There are currently 5 numbered
sunspot regions on the disk.

Solar activity is expected to be low with
a chance for M-class flares on day one (16 Dec) and likely to be low
with a slight chance for an M-class flare on days two and three (17 Dec,
18 Dec).

The geomagnetic
field has been at quiet to unsettled levels for the past 24 hours. Solar
wind speed reached a peak of 568 km/s at 15/1236Z. Total IMF reached 16
nT at 15/0517Z. The maximum southward component of Bz reached -14 nT at
15/0517Z. Electrons greater than 2 MeV at geosynchronous orbit reached
a peak level of 152 pfu.

The geomagnetic field is expected
to be at quiet to unsettled levels on days one and two (16 Dec, 17 Dec)
and quiet levels on day three (18 Dec).
