Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

B. Proton Events
GREATER THAN 10 MEV AND GREATER THAN 100 MEV
PROTON EVENTS BEGAN TODAY IN CONJUNCTION WITH AN X1/3B FLARE AT
24/2212UT FROM REGION 8307 (N31E09). THE GT 100 MEV FLUX APPEARS TO
HAVE PEAKED AT 4 PFU 25/0115UT. THE GT 10 MEV FLUX HAS PASSED 60
PFU AND CONTINUES TO RISE.
C. Geomagnetic Activity Summary
THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD WAS QUIET TO
UNSETTLED. SOME HIGH LATITUDE SITES EXPERIENCED BRIEF ACTIVE
PERIODS. ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO BE UNSETTLED TO MINOR STORM OVER
THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.
