Geophysical report
Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

B. Proton Events
The greater than 10 MeV proton event that began
at 17/0820 UTC reached maximum of 13 pfu at 17/0850 UTC and ended at
17/1230 utc. A new greater than 10 MeV proton event began at 18/1300
UTC and continues in progress. The peak flux observed so far was 25
pfu at 18/1535 UTC.
C. Geomagnetic Activity Summary
The geomagnetic field ranged from
quiet to active. A sudden impulse of 42 nT was observed in Boulder
at 19/1323 UTC.
