Solar activity report
Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

SDF Number 020 Issued at 2200Z on 20 Jan 2006IA. Analysis of Solar Active Regions and Activity from 19-2100Z to 20-2100Z Solar activity was low. Region 848 (S20E10) underwent
slow growth and developed minor magnetic mixing; however, no
activity of note was observed this period. The remainder of the
solar disk and limb was quiet.
IB. Solar Activity Forecast
Solar activity is expected to continue
at very low levels. There is a slight chance for a C-class flare
from Region 848.
IIA. Geophysical Activity Summary 19-2100Z to 20-2100Z
The geomagnetic field was quiet with isolated unsettled periods.

The geomagnetic field is
expected to continue at quiet to unsettled levels. Isolated active
periods are possible on 23 January as a high speed coronal hole
stream rotates into a geoeffective position.
