Bulletin

Solar activity has been very low during the past 24 hours. A backsided CME propagating to the south was observed in STEREO A and B and LASCO from 12h UT on 23 March. STEREO A/B EUV 195 images showed the eruption to originate from NOAA AR1689. No Earth-directed component is expected. A small low-latitude coronal hole is approaching the central meridian. We expect arrival of the associated fast flow on 28 March. At 19h UT on 23 March, solar wind speed increased to 450 km/s and the magnitude of the interplanetary magnetic field increased to 10 nT. The K-index in Dourbes and Izmiran went to K=4. This was possibly related to the arrival of the CME of 19 March. Geomagnetic conditions are quiet again and expected to remain so for the next 48 hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 029, based on 02 stations.
