Bulletin

Nine sunspot groups were reported by Catania today. Only one of them (Catania number 43, NOAA AR 1719) has beta-gamma configuration of the photospheric field. This sunspot group, as well as Catania sunspot groups 32, 34, and 40 (NOAA ARs 1713, 1714, and 1718 respectively) that produced flaring activity at a low C-level during the past 24 hours, have the potential to produce C-class flares. An M-class flare is possible, although not very likely. The filament eruption observed by SDO/AIA around 13:46 UT on April 8 was most probably confined as it was not associated with a CME observed by SOHO or STEREO. The Earth is currently inside a slow (around 350 km/s) solar wind flow with average (5-6 nT) interplanetary magnetic field magnitude. We expect quiet geomagnetic conditions.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 088, based on 08 stations.
