Six sunspot groups were reported by Catania today. Only two C-class flares were reported during last 24 hours, and the stronger one was C9.5 flare, peaking at 07:25 UT on June 03. This long duration flare originated from the fast emerging Catania sunspot group 92 (NOAA AR 1762) which has at the moment beta-gama configuration of its photosperic magnetic field, and we expect that it will produce more C-class and also possibly M-class flares. The interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is of about 4 nT during last 36 hours. Earth is still inside the fast flow from the coronal hole currently close to the west solar limb. The solar wind speed is about 700 km/s. The geomagnetic conditions are quiet and expect to remain so in the following hours.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 048, based on 14 stations.
