Bulletin

The Sun produced no C flares during the past 24 hours. B flaring is expected, with a chance for a C flare. During the past 24 hours, solar wind speed varied between about 440 and 590 km/s, while the magnitude of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field decreased from about 7 to 4 nT. Bz fluctuated a lot, with only brief periods below -4 nT during the period. Over the past 24 hours, geomagnetic conditions have been quiet to unsettled (K Dourbes between 2 and 3; NOAA Kp between 2 and 3). Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions (K Dourbes < 4) are expected on July 16, 17, and 18.
