Bulletin

Eight sunspot groups were reported by NOAA today. NOAA AR 2422 (Catania number 39) is strongly growing and now has beta-gamma configuration of its photospheric magnetic field. This active region was responsible for all the flares during the past 24 hours. However, only three C-class flares occurred, the strongest of them being the C1.5 flare peaking at 01:29 UT today. We expect flaring activity on the C-level, with a small chance for an M-class event. The Earth is currently inside a slow (around 420 km/s) solar wind flow with average (around 5 nT) interplanetary magnetic field magnitude. The geomagnetic conditions are quiet and are expected to remain so.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 157, based on 17 stations.
